Driade Adelaide includes bone china vases, plates, bowls, cups and serving pieces designed by Xie Dong.
Pleated, pinched and crumpled-looking surfaces give the rigid ceramic the appearance of folded material. Tall gathered vases sit alongside broader vessels and angular designs with narrowed waists. The tableware extends these irregular outlines into individual pieces and coordinated cup, bowl and tray sets. Many individual pieces use handmade construction, and the range shares a white ceramic surface.
Xie Dong is a Beijing-born artist and designer whose work explores materials, movement and the relationship between weight and lightness. Ceramic techniques are central to this practice, including methods that create rippled and pleated surfaces. Designs for Driade bring these experiments into functional objects linked to Chinese craft traditions.
