Tableware.
Driade La Sfera is Ron Gilad’s blown-glass collection of stemware and a matching decanter.
The designs explore a sphere cut at different heights, producing shallow open bowls and fuller enclosing forms. Water, champagne, wine and dessert-wine glasses rise above slender stems and circular feet, with paired sets extending the range. The decanter translates the same rounded geometry into a narrow-necked pouring vessel, retaining the family’s transparent material and distinct circular base.
Ron Gilad is a Tel Aviv-born designer whose work examines the relationship between objects and their functions. His practice includes individual works, limited editions and manufactured products. By altering familiar forms and materials, he uses furniture and objects to explore the boundary between practical use and abstraction.
