Moroso Victoria and Albert includes sculptural sofas and armchairs by Ron Arad with continuous curved backs and openings around the seat.
Upholstered sofas use reinforced composite-and-steel frames, while the compact padded armchair molds polyurethane around steel. Fabric covers detach on these versions; leather remains fixed. Little Albert changes the construction to one-piece rotationally molded polyethylene, bringing the related rounded outline into a compact outdoor chair with integral color.
Ron Arad studied in Jerusalem and at London's Architectural Association. He co-founded One Off with Caroline Thorman in 1981 and established Ron Arad Associates in 1989. His practice combines architecture, industrial products and studio furniture, with experimentation in materials including steel, aluminum and polyamide.
