Moroso Tropicalia includes outdoor chairs, chaise lounges, a daybed and a hanging cocoon by Patricia Urquiola with graphic cord weaving over steel frames.
Lounge and dining versions use faceted painted or stainless structures with PVC-woven seats and backs. Rounded daybed and cocoon shells instead enclose broad padded interiors. The daybed includes an outdoor mattress, while the cocoon suspends its woven seat; cushion and weave treatments remain specific to each form.
Patricia Urquiola studied architecture in Madrid and Milan, graduating under Achille Castiglioni. She worked with Vico Magistretti and Lissoni before opening her Milan studio in 2001. Her practice encompasses industrial design, architecture, interiors and art direction, including collaborations with Moroso, Flos, Driade and Cappellini.
