Driade MT includes Ron Arad’s MT1 armchair, MT2 sofa and MT3 rocking chair.
Rotationally molded polyethylene forms hollow bodies with open ends, exposing contrasting interior surfaces beneath the seats. Curved backs and sides shape the armchair and sofa, while the rocking model adds a rounded underside that allows movement. All three designs are intended for indoor and outdoor use, sharing a visible relationship between solid-looking volumes and empty space.
Ron Arad studied in Jerusalem and at London's Architectural Association. He co-founded One Off with Caroline Thorman in 1981 and established Ron Arad Associates in 1989. His practice combines architecture, industrial products and studio furniture, with experimentation in materials including steel, aluminum and polyamide.
