Sofas and armchairs.
Moroso Paper Planes includes a sofa and armchairs by Doshi & Levien with angular padded surfaces recalling folded paper.
Polyurethane covers steel frames above matte-painted square-tube bases. High- and low-back chairs offer left- and right-facing forms in jacquard or plain wool upholstery. The sofa extends the folded outline in wool, with optional signature embroidery on plain coverings. Fixed covers follow the geometry across the back, seat and sides.
Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien established their design studio in 2000 after studying at London's Royal College of Art. Their work combines Doshi's research into Indian visual culture and craft with Levien's industrial design experience. Projects explore the relationship between technology, storytelling, materials and manufacturing.
