Moroso Modernista includes an armchair, sofas and backless benches by Doshi & Levien, taking button details and straight proportions from tailored clothing.
Polyurethane and polyester padding cover wooden structures above slender powder-coated steel bases. Sofa formats range from a compact settee to larger three-seat designs, while square and rectangular benches continue the low horizontal outline. Fixed upholstery carries the restrained button pattern across the padded bodies.
Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien established their design studio in 2000 after studying at London's Royal College of Art. Their work combines Doshi's research into Indian visual culture and craft with Levien's industrial design experience. Projects explore the relationship between technology, storytelling, materials and manufacturing.
