Moroso Banjooli includes outdoor chairs, a small settee and a low table by Sebastian Herkner, handwoven by artisans in Dakar.
Polyethylene cord follows painted-steel frames within the M'Afrique range. The armchair's open looping arms recall an ostrich's courtship display, with related loops on the settee and a rounded open back on the armless chair. The table carries the woven surface into a companion piece for covered terraces and sheltered seating arrangements.
Sebastian Herkner studied product design at the Offenbach University of Art and Design. His studio develops furniture, objects and interiors. The practice combines newer production technologies with traditional craft techniques, using these processes to explore materials, surface details and references from different cultural contexts.
