Begin with how the space is used: a dining terrace wants a table and stackable chairs, a pool deck wants loungers that recline and roll, a covered porch takes an outdoor sofa with deep cushions. Then look at the sun. Pieces in full sun need fabrics made not to fade and frames that stay cool; a shaded spot can take teak and darker colors. The houses here are built for real weather: Talenti in aluminum, teak and woven rope, Vondom in sculpted, weatherproof resin, Slide in illuminated polyethylene, LaPalma for lighter pieces, Flos and Marset for outdoor lighting. Many are rated for indoor use too, and are often chosen for sunrooms and pool houses. Our designers plan a terrace the way they plan a living room.
Aluminum, resin, rope, teak and outdoor fabric
Powder-coated aluminum does not rust, stays light to move and takes any color. Rotation-molded resin and polyethylene are a single recyclable material, colored through, that frost and sun do not crack or fade. Woven rope and outdoor fabric dry fast and keep their color, with cushions over quick-drying foam. Teak weathers to silver unless oiled, and ceramic tops take heat and rain without a mark. In Michigan, the frames can stay out all year under a cover; cushions and loose covers last longest stored indoors over winter, and illuminated pieces bring their lighting unit inside. Each product page lists the exact materials, and swatches of every outdoor fabric travel to your door.
Laying out a terrace, deck or pool
An outdoor sofa sits lower than an indoor one, so check seat heights before pairing a coffee table; about two thirds of the sofa's length, 16 to 18 inches away, is right. Allow 24 inches of table edge per diner and 36 inches behind the chairs, and choose an umbrella about two feet wider than the table on each side, or a cantilever that swings over a lounge group. Loungers need about 7 feet each, with a side table between pairs. Modular outdoor sectionals are built from corner, seat and end modules, so a terrace is filled to the inch. Send us the measurements and a photo and our designers draw the layout before anything is quoted.
Ordering outdoor furniture for the season
Outdoor furniture is made to order and typically ships in 12–16 weeks, so an order placed in winter arrives for the summer; plan a spring delivery in January or February. The site shows no prices because each piece is quoted in its frame color, fabric and configuration: request a quote and a designer prices your set, with delivery, before any deposit. We deliver white-glove to all 48 contiguous states, placing the pieces on your terrace and removing the packaging, and every house here comes with the maker's own warranty through us, their authorized dealer. Will this outdoor furniture survive a Michigan winter?
The frames are powder-coated aluminum or weather-resistant resin, and the cushions use outdoor fabrics made to dry fast and resist fading. Cushions and loose covers are best stored indoors for the winter; the frames can stay out under a cover. Each product page lists the materials for that piece.
Can outdoor pieces be used indoors?
Yes. Many of the Talenti, Vondom and Slide pieces are made for both, and are often chosen for sunrooms, pool houses and covered terraces. The product page says when a piece is rated for indoor and outdoor use.
How long does outdoor furniture take, and do you deliver nationwide?
