Buying Moooi from Italcasa Design.
Where is Moooi from?
Moooi is a Dutch design brand founded in 2001 by Marcel Wanders and Casper Vissers. Its collection includes lighting, furniture and interior objects by a range of designers.
Who designed Moooi Random Light?
Bertjan Pot designed Random Light. The current Random Light II continues the original material experiment in an open, lightweight-looking sphere made from fiberglass with epoxy resin.
How do I choose a Moooi pendant size?
Compare the fixture’s diameter and total hanging height with the room, ceiling and furniture beneath it. Consider sightlines from nearby spaces as well as the amount and type of light the exact model provides.
Can I order Moooi lighting for a US installation?
Yes, subject to the selected product’s current US availability. Confirm voltage, controls, light source, location rating and any required components using the exact US specification before ordering.
Where can I buy Moooi in Metro Detroit?
Contact Italcasa Design in Royal Oak or at Michigan Design Center in Troy for Moooi. Our team can help compare the collection and plan your selection. Confirm the current display pieces and samples before visiting.
Can I order Moooi for delivery outside Michigan?
Italcasa assists clients throughout the contiguous United States. Send your Moooi selection and delivery ZIP code to confirm current availability, freight and delivery arrangements for your address.
How do I request a Moooi quote?
Send the Moooi design, size, finish or upholstery, quantity and delivery ZIP code. For lighting, include ceiling height and dimming preferences; for furniture, include room dimensions or a floor plan.
Moooi’s Dutch design beginnings
Founded in 2001 by Marcel Wanders and Casper Vissers, Moooi approaches the interior as a place for individual expression. Its collection gathers different designers and distinct ideas rather than imposing one uniform style. A Moooi piece can therefore work as the central gesture in a room or as a deliberate counterpoint to quieter furniture. Italcasa can help consider that relationship before you choose.
Texture, transparency and material experiments
Material is often part of the story in Moooi furniture and lighting. Random Light II uses an open fiberglass-and-resin structure, while other designs explore different textiles, surfaces and forms. The visual effect can change dramatically with distance and lighting. Review the exact product’s material information, dimensions and maintenance guidance, and use the appropriate US technical specification for any electrical piece.
Lighting and furniture with a distinct presence
Random Light II, the wider Moooi lighting range and expressive seating such as Hortensia offer very different ways to create a focal point. Start with the function and scale your room requires. A large light needs room to hang comfortably within the architecture; a sculptural chair needs usable space around it. We can help compare those dimensions with a floor plan and photographs of your interior.
Wanders, Pot and a range of creative voices
Moooi’s collaborators include Marcel Wanders, Bertjan Pot, Andrés Reisinger and Júlia Esqué, among others. Their work ranges from material-led lighting experiments to richly expressive upholstered forms. That variety is part of the brand’s appeal. Rather than matching every piece, look for a connection through proportion, texture or mood, then let one strong design establish the room’s visual center.
