Moooi Zio includes Marcel Wanders’ dining and lounge chairs, footstool and buffet with sculpted oak structures.
Solid-oak frames surround foam-padded upholstered seats and backs, carrying rounded arms into exposed supports. The footstool repeats that construction beneath a square cushion. A low buffet combines solid oak and veneer with two drawers, a cupboard and a broad display surface, linking storage and seating through their curved wooden legs and visible material.
Marcel Wanders is a designer from Boxtel in the Netherlands. His Knotted Chair for Droog Design brought international attention to his work in 1996. He has collaborated with furniture manufacturers across Europe, developing objects that draw on historical references, cultural differences and decorative traditions.
