Emeco Heritage chairs by Philippe Starck adapt the original Navy silhouette into stacking and rocking designs.
Handcrafted recycled aluminum forms the seat, back and supporting frame, with armchair and armless versions in both formats. The stacking chairs nest four high, while the rockers use curved supports to create movement. Hand-brushed and hand-polished surfaces offer distinct treatments of the metal; outdoor use is specified for the hand-brushed versions. Each model is made in Hanover, Pennsylvania.
Philippe Starck's collaboration with Emeco began after he used the manufacturer's Navy chairs in the Paramount Hotel. The partnership produced collections including Hudson, Heritage, Kong, Icon and Broom. These projects are part of his broader furniture design work and explore industrial materials and production methods.
