Emeco Navy spans aluminum chairs and stools, wood-seat versions, recycled-plastic seating and upholstered lounge furniture.
The original 1006 chair dates to 1944; later versions adapt its recognizable outline to different materials and uses. Jasper Morrison’s Navy Officer and Navy Lounge designs extend that lineage to upholstered work chairs, sofas and occasional tables. Outdoor suitability varies by construction and covering. Model-specific glides, arm caps and replacement covers support the different subseries without being interchangeable across every Navy design.
Emeco has produced furniture in Hanover, Pennsylvania, since 1944. Its first design, the 1006 Navy Chair, was made from recycled aluminum for the U.S. Navy. Material reuse and manufacturing research continue to shape the company's own products and collaborations with independent designers.
