Jasper Morrison
Jasper Morrison is a designer born in London in 1959. He studied at Kingston Polytechnic, the Royal College of Art and the HdK in Berlin, and in 1986 opened his Office for Design in London, which now also has studios in Paris and Tokyo. Early pieces such as the Thinking Man's Chair and the Plywood Chair made his name, and a long collaboration with Giulio Cappellini brought more than thirty designs into the Cappellini collection, including the Low Pad and the Elan and Orla sofas. With Naoto Fukasawa he defined the idea of the Super Normal, the quiet, useful object, in an exhibition and book of 2006, and in 2009 opened a shop in London devoted to such things. His work with Emeco includes the 1 Inch, Alfi and Navy Officer collections, and he has designed for Flos, Vitra, Magis, Muji and Alessi, as well as the Hannover tram. On this site his pieces appear across Cappellini, Emeco and Flos.
