Emeco Broom chairs and stools by Philippe Starck are formed from waste polypropylene and recycled wood fiber.
The material gives the family its connection to discarded workshop remnants, carried through a continuous molded seat and frame. Armless chairs stack six high, while counter and bar stools bring a backrest to elevated seating. Both furniture types are suitable for indoor and outdoor settings. Replacement glides are matched to the chair or the specific stool height.
Philippe Starck's collaboration with Emeco began after he used the manufacturer's Navy chairs in the Paramount Hotel. The partnership produced collections including Hudson, Heritage, Kong, Icon and Broom. These projects are part of his broader furniture design work and explore industrial materials and production methods.
