Flos In Vitro is Philippe Starck’s outdoor lighting family with illuminated glass chambers enclosed by aluminum frames.
LEDs concealed in the head spread light through an opalescent diffuser above clear glass. Bollards, wall and ceiling fixtures, rod pendants and suspended versions use IP66 construction. The separate Unplugged table lantern adds a carrying handle, rechargeable power and touch dimming with IP65 protection, bringing the same glass-enclosed form to portable outdoor lighting.
Philippe Starck's collaboration with Emeco began after he used the manufacturer's Navy chairs in the Paramount Hotel. The partnership produced collections including Hudson, Heritage, Kong, Icon and Broom. These projects are part of his broader furniture design work and explore industrial materials and production methods.
