Choosing an Italian leather bed, mattress size first.
Italian sizes and US sizes
Start with the mattress, because many Italian beds are built around metric sizes. Talenti's Soul and Tamashi take a 160, 180 or 200 × 200 cm mattress. Natuzzi Italia's Campus and Flow are sized for a 160 × 200 cm base, about 63 × 79 in. Its Fenice takes 180 × 200 cm. Some houses also make US formats. Ditre Italia offers Skin in King and Queen alongside metric sizes, and Nathan and Royal in King and Queen. Tell us the mattress you plan to use before you choose the frame.
The frame and its footprint
The frame usually runs larger than the mattress, so plan for the outside size. Ditre Italia's Kailua King is 92½ in wide and its Queen 79½ in, both 89¾ in long. Headboards differ in height too: Ditre Italia's Claire comes at 37 or 41 in, and Bend at 39 in. Where houses list them, frames stand 30 to 35 cm high (12 to 14 in). The slatted base inside sits at 19 to 25 cm. Ditre Italia's Nathan can raise its base so the mattress sits fully or partly within the frame.
Slats, storage and extras
Natuzzi Italia uses split slatted bases, in separate sections, and Memoria takes a split electric base. Cattelan Italia includes slats with its beds, while Reflex lists the mattress and slats separately, so check what each quote includes. About half the leather beds here come with a storage option, often a base that lifts. Arketipo's Mayfair Dream adds a lined compartment inside the headboard and a moving headrest.
Leather and covers
Almost every bed here also comes in fabric, and many in faux leather. Many Bonaldo beds have fully removable covers, even in leather. Cattelan Italia calls its soft leather natural, with wrinkles and small marks that show its quality. It can fade a little in sun or near heat. Arketipo notes that aniline leather varies in color between batches. For care, Cattelan Italia advises dusting with a soft, dry cloth and treating stains at once with soapy water or a mild detergent.

These beds are made to order, typically 12–16 weeks. When you request a quote, give the mattress size, metric or US, the leather and its color, and any storage or lighting. Ask whether slats are included. We deliver to the 48 contiguous states. Plan a visit to see pieces in person in Royal Oak, MI or Troy, MI.
