Moroso Square includes a compact chair and settee by Jonathan Olivares, translating the square units of woven textiles into padded furniture.
Separate rectangular backs and block-like seats connect through exposed tubular-steel sled bases. Polyurethane foam and polyester fiber cover wooden structures beneath removable upholstery. Single-color or two-tone textile treatments distinguish the parts, while the settee extends the chair's geometric construction across a wider seating surface.
Jonathan Olivares graduated from Pratt Institute and established his industrial design practice in 2006. Based in Los Angeles, he works on products, interiors, exhibitions and installations. Projects include the Olivares Aluminum Chair for Knoll and the Vitra Workspace showroom and learning environment.
