Sofas and armchairs.
Moroso Los Muebles Amorosos includes the Alessandra armchair and Saula Marina sofa by Javier Mariscal.
Rounded arms, divided backs and contrasting upholstered sections give the pieces an animated, drawn outline. Alessandra shapes polyurethane around a steel frame, while Saula Marina uses polyurethane and polyester padding on wood. Beech feet raise both forms, connecting the tall split-back chair with the sofa's broader asymmetric sweep through related shapes and exposed supports.
Javier Mariscal is a Valencia-born designer and artist whose work developed from drawing in the 1970s into several disciplines. His practice includes furniture, graphics, interiors, painting and sculpture. Landscape projects and other spatial work form part of the same approach to visual expression.
