Moooi Liberty includes Atelier Van Lieshout’s solid American walnut lounger and dining table.
Broad angular timber elements shape the lounger’s back, armrests and extended leg support, with a sheepskin layer on the seat. The table places a long rectangular top above branching wooden supports, seating six within its 102.4 by 43.3 inch format. Both pieces keep their substantial wood construction visible, translating the studio’s sculptural approach into indoor seating and dining.
Joep van Lieshout founded Atelier Van Lieshout in 1995 after studying at the Rotterdam Art Academy. The studio works across art, design and architecture, producing sculpture, installations, furniture and buildings. Recurring subjects include systems, self-sufficiency and the relationship between individuals and larger social structures.
