Moooi Big George includes an armchair and double-seat sofa by Cristián Mohaded.
Broad rounded arms curve toward low backs, surrounding continuous upholstered seats with substantial volumes. Wooden frames, steel springs and foam form the structure beneath the fabric coverings. The double seater extends the chair’s silhouette to a 77.2 inch width, allowing the same rounded shapes to define either an individual lounge position or a compact sofa arrangement.
Cristián Mohaded is an Argentine artist and designer who graduated from the National University of Córdoba. He works with craftspeople to explore local materials, traditions and culture. His objects are represented in collections including the Museum of Arts and Design and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
