Counter stool or bar stool: which height do I need?
Measure the underside of your counter. A kitchen counter at 36 inches takes a counter stool with a seat around 25 to 26 inches; a bar at 42 inches takes a bar stool with a seat around 30 inches. Leave 10 to 12 inches between seat and counter. Many stools here come in both heights, and several adjust.
How many stools fit along my counter?
Allow 24 inches of counter per stool with arms or a swivel, about 21 inches for a slim armless stool. A 72-inch island takes three comfortably. The width of each stool is on its product page.
Are these stools suitable for a restaurant or office?
