Sovet Italia Soft pairs dining chairs and the broader-backed Soft Low by Gianluigi Landoni.
Separate padded seats and upholstered backs sit on fine metal frames, leaving the sides open. The standard and low-back forms change the upper proportions while retaining the same slender supports. Different upholstery and frame treatments vary the surfaces, allowing the armless seating to coordinate with dining, meeting or hospitality table arrangements.
Gianluigi Landoni graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano and cofounded the Amalgama design group in 1985. His experience includes Rodolfo Bonetto's studio and Progetica Design. With Rosaria Sofia Galli, he founded ALTROdesign, working across products, interiors and commercial projects.
