Outdoor lounge chairs, outdoor dining furniture and outdoor coffee tables.
Mater Ocean includes outdoor chairs, benches and dining and lounge tables based on Jørgen and Nanna Ditzel’s 1955 design.
Repeated recycled-plastic slats sit on metal frames, with waste sources varying by version: fishing nets or electronic-waste plastic contribute to different materials. Dining and lounge chairs stack up to four high. The furniture is designed for disassembly, and separate replacement slats allow individual seat, back or tabletop components to be changed.
Jørgen and Nanna Ditzel met while studying at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts and established a studio in 1946. Their joint practice continued until Jørgen's death in 1961. Mater later worked with their design archive to reinterpret an earlier design as the Ocean outdoor collection.
