Mater Conscious brings together a dining chair, extendable table and matching table leaves from designs by Børge Mogensen and Esben Klint.
The chair combines an oak or beech frame with waste-based Matek seating surfaces. The solid-oak table starts at 160 cm long and accepts optional lacquered-MDF leaves, reaching 240 cm with two fitted. Separate felt gliders replace the chair’s standard feet; the leaves and gliders are accessories for their respective pieces.
Børge Mogensen and Esben Klint collaborated on the chair design introduced in 1958 and later reissued by Mater as Conscious Chair 3162. Mogensen's furniture focused on practical use and clear forms, while Klint's work as an architect and cabinetmaker included furniture, lighting and church restoration.
