Mater Compound comprises dining and lounge chairs by OEO Studio, with exposed or upholstered seating faces.
Steel frames support separate Matek seats and backs made with coffee-shell or wood waste and recycled plastic, depending on the version. The lounge version lowers the seat to 39 cm, while the dining chair keeps a more upright dining height. Unupholstered versions are stackable. Compatible plastic or felt gliders are offered as separate replacement fittings for the chair legs.
OEO Studio was founded in Copenhagen in 2003 by Thomas Lykke and Anne-Marie Buemann. Its work spans residential architecture, hospitality, commercial interiors and product design. The studio combines its Scandinavian design background with research into Asian aesthetics, developing projects for clients and manufacturers internationally.
