Emeco 1951 chairs and stools pair handcrafted recycled aluminum frames with recycled plastic seats and backs.
BMW Designworks reinterpreted an earlier Emeco chair, retaining its utilitarian construction while introducing an angled stance. The chairs and elevated stools stack six high and can be used indoors or outdoors. Counter and bar versions extend the same seat profile to different table heights. Replacement glide sets provide model-specific fittings for the seating.
BMW Designworks collaborated with Emeco on the 1951 seating collection, introduced in 2005. The project reinterprets an earlier Emeco chair, combining an aluminum frame with recycled plastic seating components in a family of stacking chairs and stools.
