Connubia Academy includes dining chairs, office chairs and stools built around a curved shell.
Standard armless, enclosing AC and transparent polycarbonate TR forms use different seat materials and back heights. Wooden, four-leg metal, crossed-rod and sled bases provide fixed seating, while selected central bases add swivel, return, casters or height adjustment. Upholstered alternatives change the shell surface. Specific sled chairs stack and accept meeting-room accessories; an outdoor dining version carries the same shell concept into exterior seating.
Michele Menescardi graduated in industrial design from the Politecnico di Milano in 2004. He founded MrSmith Studio before establishing an independent practice in 2014. His work for Calligaris includes seating, lamps and rugs, connecting experience in product design with collaborations across the furniture sector.
