Media units and sideboards.
Calligaris Alterego by Michele Menescardi includes sideboards and a low media cabinet with three-dimensional door fronts.
Faceted surfaces change in depth and angle, creating areas of light and shadow across the enclosed storage. Raised cabinet bodies leave the supports visible below. The media format stretches the design horizontally, with matte, lacquered or brushed surface treatments varying the appearance of the sculpted front in living and dining arrangements.
Michele Menescardi graduated in industrial design from the Politecnico di Milano in 2004. He founded MrSmith Studio before establishing an independent practice in 2014. His work for Calligaris includes seating, lamps and rugs, connecting experience in product design with collaborations across the furniture sector.
