Calligaris Bambu' includes ceramic occasional tables and wooden storage pieces with forms inspired by bamboo.
Cylindrical glazed-ceramic tables use a horizontal division to recall a segmented stem, with low broad and taller narrow formats. The sideboard and low media unit instead arrange raised and recessed wooden elements vertically across their fronts. The different materials translate the plant's segmented and upright forms into separate surfaces for living and dining spaces.
Michele Menescardi graduated in industrial design from the Politecnico di Milano in 2004. He founded MrSmith Studio before establishing an independent practice in 2014. His work for Calligaris includes seating, lamps and rugs, connecting experience in product design with collaborations across the furniture sector.
