Dining tables and sideboards.
Cappellini Simplon links a sideboard, dining tables and low tables through Jasper Morrison's aluminum-and-plywood construction.
Anodized aluminum supports the thin-edged bodies, with oak veneer or lacquer on the principal surfaces. The sideboard combines doors and drawers within a 94½ inch wide case. Oval and rectangular tables repeat the same material structure, while a low rectangular version also offers marble. Each format changes the use without abandoning the narrow metal supports.
Jasper Morrison is a designer whose furniture work includes Emeco's Alfi, 1 Inch, Navy Lounge and Navy Officer collections. His collaboration with the manufacturer brings together material choices, engineering and detailed development. He also co-curated the Super Normal exhibition presented in Tokyo in 2006.
