Cappellini Out of Scale is a cabinet family by Elena Salmistraro inspired by architectural volumes.
The main sideboard frames sliding reeded-glass doors and lacquered shelves within a metal structure, beneath an acid-etched glass top. Dampers control the sliding doors. Project One reinterprets the theme as geometric lacquered wooden volumes on contrasting legs, with handles in a satin-copper finish. That cabinet was conceived as a nine-piece edition with a different material construction from the glass-fronted design.
Elena Salmistraro is a product designer and artist based in Milan. She graduated from the Politecnico di Milano in 2008 and established a studio with Angelo Stoli the following year. Her work combines art and design research with detailed explorations of objects, forms and visual expression.
