Marset Djembé pairs pendant and ceiling lights by Joan Gaspar with bell-shaped polyethylene shades.
Rotational molding creates a stone-like texture outside and a smooth white interior that reflects LED light. Multiple diameters and depths change the volume of the bell, allowing individual fittings or compositions across a larger ceiling. The pendant places the form below suspension cables, while the ceiling version brings it close to the architectural surface.
Joan Gaspar studied industrial design in Barcelona and began working in lighting manufacturing in 1988. His collaboration with Marset started in 1996, covering product development and design direction. He opened his own Barcelona studio in 2002 and has taught materials and technology for industrial design.
