Marset Cala brings Joan Gaspar’s easel-inspired frame to indoor and outdoor floor lamps.
Indoor versions use varnished oak or painted iron beneath broad textile shades. The outdoor model changes to iroko wood and a polyethylene diffuser wrapped in removable Textilene fabric. Different heights and materials retain the open supporting outline, while switches, light sources and exterior suitability follow the particular version. Each centers a wide shade above its freestanding frame.
Joan Gaspar studied industrial design in Barcelona and began working in lighting manufacturing in 1988. His collaboration with Marset started in 1996, covering product development and design direction. He opened his own Barcelona studio in 2002 and has taught materials and technology for industrial design.
