The Tropico collection by Fontana Arte

FontanaArte Tropico includes table lamps and wall or ceiling lights by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti.

Flattened opal glass diffusers curve around a prominent polished-metal center, with integrated warm-white LEDs providing dimmable light. The table range sets this form above cylindrical supports in several glass, metal or marble combinations. Mounted versions bring the glass close to the wall or ceiling, with several sizes repeating the circular outline.

Gabriele & Oscar Buratti

Gabriele and Oscar Buratti are brothers and architects who have worked together since 1991 and run Buratti Architetti in the Milan area. Gabriele, born in 1962, taught interior design at the Politecnico di Milano from 2003 to 2010; Oscar was born in 1967. Until 2010 the practice was Buratti+Battiston Architects, with the engineer Ivano Battiston. Its work runs from residential, commercial and industrial buildings and the renovation of historic centers to villas, offices, shops and showrooms in Italy and abroad, with retail projects for La Perla, Lamborghini, Ducati and BMW, and furniture and lighting for houses including B&B Italia, Alias and Acerbis. Their awards include the Wallpaper Design Award in 2010 and an honorable mention at the XXII Compasso d'Oro in 2011. On this site their pieces appear across Bonaldo, Calligaris, Ditre Italia, Driade, Fontana Arte, Foscarini, Moroso and Vondom.

We show Fontana Arte by appointment at both showrooms — Royal Oak on Woodward and Troy at the Michigan Design Center. Call ahead and we'll have samples and finishes pulled and waiting.
