FontanaArte Fontana 1853 connects Max Ingrand’s illuminated table-lamp form with a miniature glass vase inspired by its silhouette.
The lamp joins a satin blown-glass shade to a rounded glass base, with separate controls for lighting the two sections. The hand-blown vase translates those proportions into a small tabletop object for flowers or a tealight. Both use milky glass surfaces, but the vase is a decorative vessel rather than an electrical lamp.
Max Ingrand was a French glass artist and decorator who became FontanaArte's artistic director in 1954. Trained in Paris, he worked extensively in stained glass for religious buildings, hotels and public interiors. His product designs include the Fontana table lamp, which applies his knowledge of glass to domestic lighting.
