Flos Chiara includes Mario Bellini’s floor and table lamps formed from cut-and-rolled metal sheets.
A broad hood reflects light upward from a bulb concealed lower in the body, producing indirect illumination. The floor version uses polished stainless steel with dark edging, while the smaller table lamp uses aluminum with a white reflective interior. Cable dimmers and replaceable bulbs accompany both formats, translating the same folded outline into different indoor scales.
Mario Bellini graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1959. His career has included architecture, planning, interiors, furniture and industrial products. He worked as design director at La Rinascente before joining Olivetti in 1963, developing office machines in collaboration with engineers and model makers.
