Calligaris Fifties includes a dining chair and counter stools with slender tubular-metal supports and separate upholstered forms.
The chair pairs a padded seat with a wraparound back in proportions drawn from 1950s seating. Stools offer different back heights, including a compact version with a back just above the seat. Velvet, leather or faux leather coverings are offered on selected models, bringing different surface textures to the open metal structure.
Manuela Busetti, Andrea Garuti and Matteo Redaelli have worked together since 2008. Their practice develops products for residential and contract settings. The team studies changing patterns of use and explores both established and newer materials and technologies as part of its furniture design process.
