Calligaris Fay includes tall-backed upholstered dining chairs with tapered metal or ash legs.
The flexible backrest changes position with the seated body, while the metal-frame chairs add elastic seat support. A separate metal version has a removable covering. Fay Wood uses conical ash supports and piping around the padded seat, preserving the elongated profile while emphasizing the boundary between the upholstery and the exposed wooden base.
Archirivolto was founded by Claudio Dondoli and Marco Pocci in Colle di Val d’Elsa in 1983. The practice began with architecture and interiors before developing an industrial design focus. Its work includes chairs, stools, sofas and office seating, with research into materials and manufacturing processes.
