Slide Design Chubby includes a lounge chair, footrest and side table by Marcel Wanders.
Broad curves give the polyethylene seating a low, continuous outline, while the matching ottoman uses a rounded, pebble-like form. The circular side table offers glass or HPL tops and three wheels for repositioning. Designed for indoor and outdoor arrangements, the pieces connect different functions through the same full, curved bodies.
Marcel Wanders is a designer from Boxtel in the Netherlands. His Knotted Chair for Droog Design brought international attention to his work in 1996. He has collaborated with furniture manufacturers across Europe, developing objects that draw on historical references, cultural differences and decorative traditions.
