Mater Earth includes backless stools and stools with backrests by Eva Harlou.
The designs combine slender steel frames with Matek seats made from coffee-shell waste and recycled plastic. The open frame leaves the composite seat visible, while the backrest version adds support above it. Different seat heights serve elevated indoor seating, carrying the same material pairing into both a compact bar stool and a stool with a raised back.
Eva Harlou is a Danish architect who graduated from the Aarhus School of Architecture in 2003. Her Copenhagen practice designs buildings and furniture. Alongside design work, she has presented television programs about homes and architecture, connecting professional practice with communication about the built environment.
