LaPalma Seela includes chairs and stools by Antti Kotilainen, built around curved polypropylene shells.
Seat inserts can be replaced on insert-equipped models, while full upholstery provides another treatment. Standard and AC armchair forms offer wood legs, metal frames and swivel or caster bases; selected conference chairs add writing tablets. Fixed and adjustable stools extend the system to higher seating. Dedicated outdoor models use suitable shells and frames, with drainage and UV stabilization specified on the standard outdoor designs.
Antti Kotilainen established his design office in Helsinki in 1997. His practice specializes in furniture and also develops products, graphics and spatial concepts. His work examines manufacturing details and the use of wood, with collaborations including Scandinavian furniture companies as well as Knoll and Arper.
