LaPalma Oiva includes stackable wooden dining chairs by Antti Kotilainen.
Solid-ash frames support broad curved plywood backs and shaped seats, keeping the wooden structure exposed on all sides. The unpadded chair has a 46 cm seat height, while the upholstered-seat version reaches 47 cm. Fabric, leather or imitation leather can cover the added seat pad, providing a different seating surface within the same open wooden frame.
Antti Kotilainen established his design office in Helsinki in 1997. His practice specializes in furniture and also develops products, graphics and spatial concepts. His work examines manufacturing details and the use of wood, with collaborations including Scandinavian furniture companies as well as Knoll and Arper.
