LaPalma Kai includes stacking chairs and an adjustable stool by Shin Azumi.
Folded plywood shells sit on slender metal supports, with wood finishes, seat pads or full upholstery depending on the version. The chairs come with or without armrests on four stainless-steel legs. The pedestal stool swivels and adjusts from 54 to 79 cm, carrying the same folded-back design into indoor counter and bar-height seating.
Shin Azumi completed a master's degree at the Royal College of Art in 1994 and initially worked through the design unit AZUMI. He established a studio in London in 2005 and moved its base to Tokyo in 2016. His product collaborations include LaPalma, Magis, Desalto and Fredericia.
