Lago Design Biza by Monica Armani includes an armchair and modular sofas with curved backs that project beyond their bases.
The upholstered lower forms taper toward the floor, contrasting with the overhanging upper cushions. Sofa elements can form straight arrangements or more enclosing compositions, while the separate armchair repeats the same rounded construction. Fabric choices vary the surfaces across the family, whose outlines draw on the domed forms of Venetian Byzantine architecture.
Monica Armani is an architect and designer whose approach grew from work in her family's architecture practice. She develops objects and furnishings by balancing form, function, technology and detail. Her collaborations include LAGO's Venezia collection, which draws on the city's architecture and cultural history.
