Foscarini Folio includes wall and ceiling lights by Carlo Urbinati and Alessandro Vecchiato.
White blown glass takes the form of a thin sheet with two gently folded corners. Hot bending shapes the diffuser, and acid etching gives its outer surface a light-softening texture. Different wall sizes and a larger ceiling version retain the same folded outline, supported by concealed metal fittings around replaceable bulbs for reflected and diffused illumination.
Carlo Urbinati and Alessandro Vecchiato began their relationship with Foscarini as designers. Their projects include Folio, which reinterprets traditional blown glass. They subsequently helped guide the company's development, bringing different cultural references, ideas and manufacturing processes into its lighting collection.
