Foscarini Filo pairs table and floor lamps by Andrea Anastasio that display their components as part of the design.
Fabric-covered cables loop around hand-blown glass ornaments and porcelain light cones, supported by slender metal structures. Coordinated combinations change the glass shapes, colors and cables rather than treating them as separate interchangeable choices. The porcelain cones direct light downward, with cable switches controlling the compositions at table or floor height.
Andrea Anastasio studied philosophy before working across art, design and traditional craft research. His projects have involved architecture documentation in India and collaborations with museums, publishers and design practices. He develops furniture and objects by reconsidering everyday materials, including the Filo lighting project for Foscarini.
