Bontempi Casa Puffoso by Bernhardt & Vella includes rounded ottomans and an elongated upholstered bench.
Slim lacquered-metal legs rise beside the padded volumes, outlining the seat supports. Low and high ottomans provide different proportions of the cylindrical form. The 154 cm bench extends that shape into a longer seat with rounded ends. Fabric, velvet and leather coverings vary the surface across the related compact and linear seating pieces.
Ellen Bernhardt and Paola Vella founded their Milan studio in 2008. Their work connects product design with interiors, drawing on research into art, architecture and earlier design. The practice approaches individual objects in relation to the spaces around them and works across projects of different scales.
