All designersChoosing a Cattelan Italia table, top, base and size.
Start with the top
Cattelan Italia, founded in 1979 by Giorgio and Silvia Cattelan, names each table by its top. Keramik is the house's ceramic, made from clay, granite and ceramic particles that are ground, compacted and fired. Most Keramik tops copy a marble, and some patterns come in matte or glossy. Crystalart is printed glass; on the Dragon table it is extra-clear, beveled and 12 mm thick. Wood tops come mainly in Canaletto walnut or burned oak. Marble versions use natural stone. Ker-Wood rounds set a ceramic center into a wooden top.
Bases and edges
The bases carry much of the design, so choose the finish with care. Steel bases come in embossed lacquers such as titanium and bronze, or in brushed bronze and gray. The house notes that color and brushing vary on the brushed finish, because the work is done by hand. Keramik Premium versions add a deep rounded edge in brushed bronze or gray. On several round tables, a "T" version turns the center so dishes pass around the table.
Sizes and seats
Cattelan Italia lists seats with each size. A 200 × 120 cm table (79 × 47 in) seats 8. At 240 × 120 cm (94 × 47 in) it seats 10, and at 300 × 120 cm (118 × 47 in), 12. The Senator Keramik Magnum reaches 600 × 180 cm and seats 24. Round tops run from 140 cm (55 in) for 6 to 220 cm (87 in) for 10. Most stand 74 to 75 cm high, about 29 in.
The Drive tables extend
Every table named Drive extends. Eliot, Premier and Tyron Keramik Drive open from 160 to 236 cm (63 to 93 in), seating 6, then 10. Their 200 cm versions open to 294 cm (116 in), seating 8, then 12. Check the leaf: Eliot and Gotham use ceramic leaves, while Boulevard Keramik Drive uses lacquered MDF matched to its base.
Care and ordering
The house's care notes differ by top. Clean ceramic with a wet sponge and mild detergent, with no abrasives or steam cleaner. Marble carries a water- and oil-repellent layer, so use stone products and avoid harsh detergents. Keep abrasives off glass. These tables are made to order, typically 12–16 weeks. When you request a quote, name the model, size, top code and base finish, and ask about the T version on round tables. We deliver to the 48 contiguous states. Plan a visit in Royal Oak, MI or Troy, MI to talk through tops and finishes in person.
