Opinion Ciatti Atavica includes Marcantonio’s Cielo and Terra carpets and the Ramo wall coat rack.
The printed rugs depict natural scenes, from branches and birds above to animals across a landscape. Ramo translates a branching limb into steel, with eleven smaller branches serving as hooks. The collection connects illustrated and sculptural references to nature, using synthetic-fiber textiles for the floor and a wall-mounted structure for hanging clothing and accessories.
Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba, known professionally as Marcantonio, trained at an art institute and an academy of fine arts. He began with theater work and collaborations with architects before developing objects that connect art and design. Relationships between people and the natural world are a recurring subject in his work.
